In the first photo you will see normally colored screech owls. Typically, screeches are either red or grey. However, they do, on occasion, come in a weird but BEAUTIFUL mix of both colors! We call this the intermediate morph. So, while red and grey morphs are more common, the intermediate morph is still just as beautiful! What an amazing owl.
