In the fiscal year 2001/12 Scotland gave away £4.4 BILLION. That is the difference between what we paid Westminster and what they gave us back to get by on. Thats about £830 for every man, woman and child in Scotland. We are looking at having to pay about another £4.4 BILLION as the Scottish contribution towards HS2, David Camerons new train set to get his pals into London quicker from middle England. And Scotland will have to contribute around £10 BILLION towards the replacement of WMDs next to Glasgow. So, here we have 3 very straightforward savings for the people of Scotland should we choose independence. £4.4 BILLION + £4.4 BILLION + £10 BILLION = £18.8 BILLION....... Thats over £3500 for every man woman and child in Scotland!!!!! Now, we will not personally benefit as a cash payment to each of us BUT our country will benefit from it on our behalf. £18.8 BILLION!! Imagine what we could do with that?? Eradicate child poverty, overhaul the NHS and safeguard jobs, ensure free education for all, build new schools, build a dual carriageway from Perth to Inverness and probably still have money left over for repairing the potholes!! And bear in mind, this will be EXTRA money. We already fund everything with the budget we get, which was our money to start with. Think with both your heads and your hearts. Vote NO to give away £18.8 BILLION of Scotlands money to Westminster, never to be seen again. Vote YES to keep that £18.8 BILLION here for it to be used it to IMPROVE our Scotland. Mike Strachan.
