In the general epistle of James, the apostle tells us that Elijah - TopicsExpress

In the general epistle of James, the apostle tells us that Elijah was a man just like us(Jam.5:17),and that he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:and it rained not for three years and six months. The prophet prayed again, and it rained. However, when you read the Old Testament you indeed find Elijah praying on mount Carmel, that it should rain(1Kgs18:41-46) but you do not find him praying that it should NOT rain.Instead,we are abruptly introduced to this prophet whilst he is in dialogue with King Ahab(1kgs17:1).So then, why did James say that Elijah prayed that it should not rain when that it is not stated(explicitly,at least) in the scriptures, where did he get it from or why does he say it?#FoodForThoughtDay
