In the horse world there is a pecking order that is taken very seriously by the herd. The ones on top have responsibility of the herd and while they get to be first to everything they also are on alert for most of the time. The opposite end of this is low man. That horse goes last, gets pushed out of everything, offers very little resistance to any aggressiveness and will not fight for food. While this sounds mean and bullyish these horses are ok with their position, learn to move away and are glad to not have responsibility of the herd. Sky is our low man and gives way to all the others. But today when they were all eating their hay piles and pushing Sky out of all of them I got all Mama horse about my four legged child and made low man...top man and he got his own, huge hay pile and peace and quiet to eat it while I made and filled hay bags. We had a nice time just chillin and making nah nah faces at the rest of the herd. :)
