In the late 1930s and early 1940s Mr. H.C. Robertson was a teacher and principal of several schools in the surrounding area but best known for the then "Combs High School". While reading his book "Hills of Home" about his life I came across something he wrote that I think still should be our compass for so many years later. He said and I quote "I have faith in God and people. I believe that a MORAL and SPIRITUAL life is the very essence of democracy and that ORDER and DISCIPLINE (good old fashioned butt whippings) are the most important aspects of rearing of youth and the building of good citizenship" end of quote. I find it fascinating that the same spiritual and discipline guidelines should hold true today as much as they did 75 years ago. God Bless those who paved so many good roads before us only to have them be pushed aside.
