In the late 60s-early 70s, my first 3 on-air radio jobs were strictly on AM stations without any FM or TV affiliations. WIBC/WNAP was my first dual station set-up experience with both operations in the same building. Big AM up front with the air studio window overlooking Illinois St, and the stepchild FM in the back next to the candy machine with no window to reality, just a back door to a parking lot. Later in the early 90s while jocking for a national radio network in Los Angeles, there were multiple formats utilizing many studios. Even though I enjoyed the camaraderie of all the jocks on the air simultaneously, it always felt a bit like assembly-line radio.
