In the late 70s I used to play at a place called Chesters in Setauket,N.Y with my band Soundwind and the Last Chance Blues Band we were country with a harder edge. We played everything from Emmy Lou Harris to Jackson Brown to George Jones,Merle Haggard,Hank Sr.,Commander Cody.Chesters was like if some one had brought a honky tonk up from the south to New York. There was a guy who would come and sit in with us and play country fiddle we used call him Duke the Drifter a play on Luke the Drifter and he was the real deal. His real name was Doug Seegers and I always wondered what happened to him.I found out he had moved to Nashville, playing guitar on the street and living under a bridge.Never be anyone other than yourself, never give up your dreams and even though it may take a while some day fortune might smile on you! This is about him.youtu.be/Cttt3F_kGRs
