In the life of every single person, God tries repeatedly to reach you. Most become very adept at ignoring it. I was once great at it. There has always been from my earliest memories until now, a knowing inside of me of the presence of God...Ive always felt it...but I was able to ignore it for a very long time. For it to be real, for it to be earnest, I think something has to shake a person up to their core for them to truly answer that door. For me it was finding out I was going to be a father for the first time. It honestly blew me away, because I knew me better than anyone, and that guy needed help. 16 1/2 years later and God has me in his firm grip, still molding me, still teaching me, still giving me grace when I totally screw it all up. Using me for why he made me. When I see my oldest daughter Madison I see so much more than just a daughter. I see myself, I see what once was and the promise of what will be. I see what God can do when we answer the door. I see his majestic hand in my life. I see my salvation. Im a gigantic believer that music is often the instrument that gets people to open their own door to God. Given what that man did to his own daughter last night on a cold bridge in St. Pete, I want to share a song that means a great deal to me. And Im going to pray, because I already know, that somebody will read this today or wherever it spreads to via the magic of social media, and its going to speak directly to them too.
