In the mid sixties I finished a masters degree program in Audio - TopicsExpress

In the mid sixties I finished a masters degree program in Audio Visual Communications from UW Stout. As part of that program I had to write and produce a film. I chose the history of Wabasha as my topic. Unfortunately the film was done in a media format which only existed for about 20 minutes, magnetic striped super 8 film. This was pre-video tape. The film can no longer be played because I cannot find the proper equipment. To make the film, however, I did what today would be known as the Ken Burns effect on old photographs. To get the photographs I went to the Joe Suillman museum in Wabasha and asked if I could borrow some pictures. He had boxes of thousands of old family pictures, postcards and the like. To do the film I took the pictures to a photo copy stand and made 4x5 negatives of them. I have not looked at most of the negatives for 50 years, but I think they are in a box at home. I have a scanner that scans negatives so when I get home I will sort through what I have and make as many as possible available. I know I have pictures like the brew master and his crew outside of the brewery. (Side comment, the brew masters name was Frank Lager, which I always thought was appropriate). As you might guess the pictures I printed and kept mostly dealt with family images. I am posting the photo of my dad and grand father who I never knew that was taken in the mid-thirties. In my memory there were several interior merchant photos in the collection. It looked like someone must have gone around town and taken pictures. I will look when I get home in early April and post what I can find. William and Joseph Meyer at Joseph Meyer Company
