In the middle of winter, at a very inconvenient time (I was about to go away for work, leaving Stacey alone) the main water pipe feeding my house asploded. Because of some timing bullcrap I had two plumbers no-show. So in the freezing middle of the night by flashlight I dug a hole in the yard and did a quick fix, using a flex repair pipe rated 150psi. My home inspection report thinger says the pressure here is 85 which is pretty good for residential pressure.. well under the 150. Well last night - another particularly inconvenient night - that repair pipe exploded. I had filled in the hole in my yard with manure, bleh... so I fixed it again now - glad its not winter anyway. This time I used regular schedule 40 pipe and extra special plumbing curse words, and made sure I got a little bloody too so the blood demons would be appeased. Being a homeowner is neat and all but damn I wish I could just pay plumbers to plumb and painters to paint and all that stuff.. DIY with all the wrong tools and skills is a mess!
