In the midst of a storm coming what better time to ask the people - TopicsExpress

In the midst of a storm coming what better time to ask the people of our direct community if they would be willing to put together a Rural Domestic Preparedness team which is basically trained volunteers that would respond when there is a disaster of some sort. All training would be provided free of charge and would be given by The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium which is a Federally funded program that is not affected by the cuts because it is an essential part of the Government. Some of the courses will be done on-line and in person by trainers. After we put a team together which does not have to be a part of the Fire Department but the community as a whole. If we can get enough people willing to join the club per say we can go from there. We will have to set up an organization and we will be given a team # and from there we can start the training process and then the organization can get funds and supplies etc. But I kinda said all that to see who would be interested in doing this, I will also be approaching churches as well to see who would be willing. Face it people we in the rural areas can not look forward to immediate help from the Local and Federal Governments we will have to rely on each other. There is a place for everyone so PLEASE think about it.
