In the midst of all the anti-police/cop hating propaganda being spoon fed to us by the media, I felt compelled to tell you a story of Christmas cheer involving one of our very own NPD officers. The officer wants to remain nameless, so I will respect his wishes. After making the scene of a theft of Christmas lights, a Norwalk officer couldnt help but notice how upset the little boy (victim) was that someone would ruin his Christmas by stealing their lights from the front yard tree. Obviously, no major dragnet would crack this minor case of larceny without a witness or another source of evidence. So what does Officer friendly do? He called home to his wife and told her to run up Dollar General purchase some Christmas lights. He couldnt go himself because he was the only officer working and was responding to multiple calls. After taking care of the other calls for service, that officer, with the assistance of his family, went to the victims house and strung the lights in the bare tree (while victims family was gone shopping). The victims Mother figured out who had to have been the one that put the lights up...so she called Officer friendly to say thanks. That my neighbors is exactly what 99.99% of cops are like! We have a fantastic group of officers in Norwalk...some that I have gotten to know and have become friends with. The rhetoric forced upon us through the mainstream media is sickening, often false and most certainly isnt anything illustrative of our officers! Thanks NPD! Merry Christmas!
