In the midst of my crazy, hectic life, I experienced what was the most inhumane, disgraceful and heartbreaking 20 minutes of my life on my way to the dentist. As I drove just past the stop sign of my calm and peaceful neighborhood, I witnessed an elderly woman get beat up by a young man in the middle of the road while many cars just drove by and did nothing! I pulled up right next to him and threw anything I had in my car at him. Others began to stop and we called 911. I chased this reckless boy down the street were he hopped in a car that was clearly waiting for him with another car right behind him. I saw men with guns and then turned around and waited to the police. This woman was severely injured both physically and now emotionally scarred for life. As I think about that over and over, I just tear up. This has shaken me to the core. The fact that we live among a society were such horrid things happen in our backyard. I have never experience violence this way...I wonder if there is way I can find out were this woman was taken and how I can help her...It is just so sad.
