In the midst of the busyness of yesterday, we forgot to announce the births of two precious girls on Wednesday evening! Both baby girls were born to second-time mamas having their first BOL birth! Sweet Carmella, weighing in at 9#3.5oz (nearly two pounds bigger than her brother!), was born just after 6pm, surrounded by a whole team of people supporting her mama, each in their unique way. Mom, Carmella, Dad, and all the family did a great job rolling with the punches as a few hiccups were encountered during the birth and the postpartum period. Moms attitude through it all amazed us all. After a bit of an extended stay at BOL, everyone was ready to start their new lives together and home they went. Congrats to you all! Cutie-patootie Emma, 7#7oz, was waterborn just before 10pm. This labor differed significantly from moms first and she was thrilled with that fact! Dad and the same doula who also supported her in her first labor were a great team, helping her each step of the way. Mom persevered and just a few minutes after she felt she could persevere no longer, she pushed once and lifted her baby out of the water! It was awesome and caught most everyone, including Dad (who had planned to catch) off guard! Mom beamed the rest of her stay at BOL and was ready to head home just as soon as wed let her :) Congrats to this lovely family, as well!
