In the morning I will be running in my first 5k road race in years!! (Colors of Courage sponsored by the Leonard Lawson Cancer Center) I am excited and nervous but most of all proud to be honoring those who have lost their battle with cancer and showing my continued support for those who are fighting and are surviving! On a personal level I will be running in memory of my grandma, Geneva Prater who survived breast cancer but eventually lost her battle with lung cancer. She was one of the strongest women I know and such a wonderful influence. I am honored to run in her memory!
