In the music business theres those that pioneer and then theres those that copy, or in other words just rip off what they see others doing well and try and do it themselves. Imitation is allegedly the sincerest form of flattery, but often these are poor imitations of the original idea that the creative pioneer had, although many will have some form of success depending on how good a copycat they are. Weve all seen artists copy the sound of other DJs and jumping on bandwagons as soon as they hear of it,their level of success is often down to how quickly they jump on it. Or promoters that come up with a new idea for a clubnight have a successful run to then find the venue chucks them out and trys to do that same clubnight itself (normally falls on its arse) theres 1000s of examples of this mentality, and although its often difficult for the original creator to see their idea watered down and diluted, I suppose its a natural part of evolvement of the way the music scene works. 4 years ago when I came up with the idea of the Ideal Clubworld; to give a global platform to the 40artists I then represented, a real unrestricted live and visual place to play and connect with their audience, it was the 1st of its kind, and although the roller coaster it put me on has bought with it great sacrifice and I have indeed been ripped off many times, I am proud of the love and community it has created and that I have done my part to support the music world that I am so passionate about in whatever small way, and despite the tears, the agonising, the relentless work thats been involved, I have no regrets apart from wishing I could have done more. However life has moved on, times and technology have changed so much, and although I have evolved the Ideal clubworld since I began, its time for a new idea to now take shape, theres so many people doing some form of Radio nowadays, and its watering it down and none of it means anything to me, and its not an ocean that is attractive to me to be in. My new vision incorporates the best of what we have on the Radio, and uses everything we have learnt over the last 3 years, plus builds on all the listeners that support and love us. Its totally different though to anything I know of,its fairly radical and who knows if it will succeed, but all I know is I will give it my best shot, he who dares wins :)
