In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers/sisters, to keep away from every brother/sister who does not live according to the teaching you have received from us. 2 Thessalonians 3:6 As good as the church at Thessalonica was, it also needed instruction and caution on this matter of looking after those who did not live according to the teachings. It is not the mere presence of idle persons in a church that causes Gods displeasure. It is when they are tolerated and no steps are taken to either cure them off their evil practices, or exclude them from the fellowship of the church. This carelessness regarding the wayward members on the part of the church is but a sad sign off a lack of praying. -EM Bounds Father, guide us, your church, not to neglect those who are not living according to your teachings.
