In the next five years, there will be one great realisation - that the Right / Left debate is inherently flawed and inapplicable to India. Even terms like welfare and reform dont originate from Indian philosophy. We prefer the idea of Rajdharma (did you know that in many cases the king was the custodian and not the owner of the land?) - and the dharmic principle of duty and care, of the individual AND the community (not either/or). This Right / Left business has been forced upon us. We are enthusiastic about enterprise - and we are a nation of entrepreneurs - but we do not believe blindly bringing in Walmart will fulfill the needs of our diverse and disparate agrarian system. We have a different path. We are a different civilisation - and our narrative cannot be a force-fitted to American or British lenses.
