In the next professional development / faculty meeting, I would to meet with my fellow middle school teachers and discuss some of the following topics: - the influence of Egyptian mathematics in the Pythagorean school - immigrant literature in the first part of the 21st century - implicit post-modern attitudes in todays inner-city teenage students - latest discoveries in gravitational waves and its implications for our understanding on how the universe began - neoliberalism and the future of democracy - the life of Dietrich Bonheoffer as an alternative role model for our youth - the Quadrivium as a curriculum model The advantages are multiple. These types of discussions will certainly make us much better teachers, our classes will rock, our students will love us, and our meetings will be way less boring that they are now. Are school administrators taking notes? Ps. I am not holding my breast. En la próxima reunión para el desarrollo profesional de la facultad, me gustaría reunirme con mis compañeros maestros de escuela intermedia y discutir algunos de los siguientes temas: - La influencia de las matemáticas egipcias en la escuela pitagórica - La literatura de inmigrantes en la primera parte del siglo 21 - Corrientes actitudes postmodernas implícitas en los estudiantes adolescentes de los centros marginados de la ciudad - Últimos descubrimientos en ondas gravitacionales y sus implicaciones para nuestra comprensión de como comenzó el universo - El neoliberalismo y el futuro de la democracia - La vida de Dietrich Bonheoffer como un modelo alternativo para la juventud - El Quadrivium como un modelo curricular Las ventajas son múltiples. Este tipo de discusiones sin duda nos harían mejores profesores, nuestras clases serian insuperables, nuestros estudiantes nos amarían, y nuestras reuniones serían mucho menos aburridas de que lo son ahora. ¿Están los administradores escolares tomando notas? P.D. No estoy aguantando la respiración.
