In the ninth year of the Hijra the Prophet (ṣallallāhu - TopicsExpress

In the ninth year of the Hijra the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) sent Abu Mūsa al-Ashari (raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu) and Mu‘ādh b. Jabal (raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu) to the people of Yemen to call them to Islam. Mu‘ādh b. Jabal (raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu) was one of the very few companions whom the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said O Mu‘ādh, I love you for the sake of Allah! and then he advised him that after every Salah make the following duʿāʾ to Allāh (subḥānahu wa taāla)... Allāhumma aʿinna ‘ʿalā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ʿibādatik (O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner). This beautiful duʿāʾ should be memorised & implemented by every Muslim who loves the Prophet, for the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) gave this duʿāʾ to an individual whom he loved for the sake of Allāh (subḥānahu wa taāla). After this incident Mu‘ādh never saw the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) again, for soon after this time the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) returned to His Lord.
