In the old classic story of “The Wizard of Oz” everyone was trying to be someone other than who they were. Dorothy dreamt of a land over the rainbow; the Scarecrow so much wanted to be intelligent; the Tin Man desired a brain; the Lion sought courage and even Toto had an agenda. It seems like we’re never really satisfied with who we are and often our circumstances tell us we would be so much better off if we were someone else. The truth is that God created each one of us with special gifts and talents. We are all originals. As we pass through life, we alter our identities by often becoming someone we aren’t, because it seems so much better. Who we are is a combination of our life events and how we react to them, but remembering who are Creator is, will determine who we really are.
