In the past, NFL kickoff was placed on 25 or 30 yard line. Few years ago, they moved the spot to 35 yards, which reflected on diminishing returns and more touchbacks. Soon, the commisioner and owners will meet and discuss many possible new rules such as eliminate OT during pre-season, no rolling tackle below waist, review for penalty on non-scoring plays and locate football on 40-yard for kickoff. I am hoping they dont vote on 40-yard because it made big differences for those return specialists. But the purpose of rule change is to prevent more concussions since the pursuit on returners r wild and more blind-sided blocks and hits!!
