In the past (and even now), I do not like using the word Zionism because I associated it with anti-Semitism. Even now I have to watch and be on high alert to ensure when that word comes up, it is not being used for anti-Semitic purposes. I have had prominent and close Jewish friends throughout the course of life so I al not interested in offending the Faith in any way. Another reason why I would feel weary of the term is because it might indicate that I am against somehow against a state that is predominantly Jewish and I am okay with a state being predominantly Muslim so this would be inherently racist. No, I am not at all against a state that is Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Zen, Martian or anything else. The word Zionism for me has been so loaded, I just want to make sure it is never with offensive connotations.
