In the past few weeks, Ive been dealing with this crazy lady who thought she was an art collector and knew anything about painting. However, the true is....she was just an idiot. Here is the timeline about this craziness: 8/24 - An Australian lady bought a painting of mine on Etsy. 8/29 - I shipped the painting along with a free print as an extra gift. 9/11 - She received the painting in Australia. 9/12 - She reported me on Etsy and asked refund via Paypal. She also wrote me bunch nasty emails calling me a liar, scam and kept asking me where I kept the original painting. According to her, I shipped her a fake painting which was simply a print clued on a canvas panel. She questioned me about 1. the smooth surface; 2. all the edges around the painting were straight with a tiny thickness; 3. she couldt see any brush strokes in the painting. In the next few days, Id explained everything to her and told her that the painting at her place was the original. I showed her some snapshots I took while I was working on the painting; I answered all her questions as details as I could: 1. The smoothness was from the satin varnish; 2. all the edges were caused by masking tapes. 3. she couldnt see any brush strokes because Im good at what Im doing! (well I didnt said that, I explained my painting process step by step because she has asked) Still, she didnt believe me. She told me she would bring my painting to an independent art collector to examine and she would call a police if it was necessary. I simply told do any examination she wanted and is she could proved that the painting was a print, Id give her money back and she didnt even have to ship the painting back. 9/16 - Paypal asked to response the case so that they could review the case. So I did and wrote a huge essay to explain everything to Paypal. 9/18 - After reviewing the case, PayPal made a decision that I needed to give her money back and she had to ship my painting back. So I put the money back to PayPal from my bank account. PayPal was holding the money until I received the painting so they could release the money back to the ladys account. 9/28 - Havent heard anything from the lady since 9/16 and didnt get my painting back yet. i wrote an email to PayPal and explain the situation. 9/29 - PayPal closed the case and released the money back to me because they havent heard any response from the lady since 9/16 either. Conclusion; That lady is either a scam or a stupid idiot who eventually realized that the painting was an original acrylic painting and felt bad to admit it. Thanks for not even sending me an apology!!!
