In the past few years many #journalists were #killed, #kidnapped, #tortured, or simply disappeared. Many of them friends, colleagues, people who crossed my path. In #Syria, in #Egypt, in #Yemen, in #Bahrain, in #Iraq, in #Libya in #Philippines. Most of them were local journalists whose names never make it to the news. The perpetrators go mostly unpunished, often without an investigation. They have to fear no #law, they have impunity. Thank you Al jazzera for remembering the dozens dead journalists in the Middle East and North #Africa.
