In the past four months Janice and I have been asking citizens of Buhl to come and stand with us and others as we ask the city council to adopt the RCG (Restoring constituional governance) resolution distributed by Pandaunite (people against the NDAA) in the take back your town pack and written by a constitutional lawyer. Average citizens in towns from the East coast to the West coast have appeared before their city council and been heard by those they elected. This resolutions main goal is to protect citizens from sections 1021 and 1022 of the 2012 NDAA (national defence authorization act). These two sections declare that the laws of war apply to every town in this nation.The NDAA also states that the president can indefinitly detain American citizens for committing what the president might consider a beligerent act. More times than not when I asked a citizen of Buhl to join our efforts I have been told The Buhl city council will not listen to the citizens! , You are waisting your time. I remembered how citizens of Buhl where treated by city leaders durring the water issues a few years back. When we had our public hearings and was shut down at every turn. others had similar stories of issues I was not aware of however the outcome was always the same. Some citizens even shared they had been targeted by police for the pressure they put on the city council. It is important for me to say that the Buhl police under the current chief of police has brought its self from a power hungry group to a department that has principles and uses their powers apropriately. I had the belief that the Mayor and city council where more attentive to citizens needs as well, as they are involved with the buhl citizens daily in their businesses and professions. Unfortunately those citizens who would not get involved and shielded themselves from the abuses and def ear of the Buhl city council where right. As we progress with this human rights resolution every meeting we where only given the opportunity to speak durring citizens concerns. When our resolution came up on the agenda in February not one member would make a motion to open it for discussion. It was totaly ignored. the third meeting a different resolution was presented to the coulcil. defending freedom resolution A council man wrote this resolution the night before that meeting. Stateing it was more appropriate for protecting the rights of citizens and supporting the constitution and concerns of Buhl citizens. He also stated the city does not adopt resolutions created by third parties. not even one written by a constitutional lawyer. Fourth meeting the city council imidiately moves to adopt the DFR resolution as the citizens request to be heard falls on def ears. They move to vote on the DRF and citizens demand to be heard before they ignore the original resolution and move forward with theirs written in haste by a pharmacist. Those citizens whe where asking their city leaders to hear their pleas where escorted out of the meeting. After they where removed one council member stated. we heard discussion on this resolution from 8 citizens last meeting. What he did not say was that every single one of those eight apposed the DFR and requested the city council reconsider and pass the RCG. For the city council to refuse to open the RCG resolution the citizens requested for any public diuscussion. For the city council to only allow citizens to speak at the very end of the meetings. For the city to say and use statements of opposition th their resolutuion then and falsly act like they where the publics input and approval necessary in the creation and passing of their own version of the resolution. I stand tall with my head held high...Shame on the city council and mayor for continuing the treatment and traditions that causes seperation between the Buhl citizens from their city leaders... Shame on you for not respectinmg your city citizens who trusted you with the cities business.... Shame on you for disrespecting the constitution of the United States that so many have given so much for even their lives for people like you who stomp on it like it is trash. Shame on you for owning businesses in this town and acting like you care about this town while one night a month you do what you can to hurt citizens in this town behinds the cover of your elected office.
