In the spirit of Angela Davis (I love Angie and that fro, power to the people). But in truth with this particular case, Im not sure that Mike Brown should be our poster child for the very real issue of SOME police officers who fit the bill of trigger happy racist cops who are too quick to pump bullets into the bodies of minorities. There are plenty of other clear cut cases to rally around and get behind. I just dont think that this was the one. Mike is carrying too much baggage and there are problems surrounding this one that can work against the real issue at the end of the day. The problem with emotional responses minus the facts, is that we risk being discredited, marginalized, and written off in the real cases. The reaction is certainly understandable, as the real deal does happen far too often, however these battles have to be conducted strategically, and this one can go bad very quickly and defeat the purpose and work against us if were not careful. Better wisdom says to abandon a sinking ship and board one that is afloat. One possible solution which I will reiterate, is not only dash cams but lapel cams with audio. This can, at least potentially, protect all parties involved.
