In the spirit of the season, we want to give thanks to everyone who helps AWS and our animals. Where would be we without our volunteers? Our volunteers are the most dedicated and amazing animal-lovers we know. Each and every one of them is crucial to our operations. Our volunteers are active in the shelter — answering phones, assisting in the spay/neuter clinic, cleaning kennels, walking dogs, socializing cats and small animals. They bring dogs to our shelter obedience class and provide enrichment one on one. Volunteers open up their homes and their hearts to pets in need or foster care, including mother animals and their litters. Volunteers take dogs out in public to promote adoption (Mobile Adoption Team), they run errands for us in the community, collecting donation box money and necessary supplies. They photograph our animals and our events to help spread the word of the good things we do. Volunteers assist in the front office and development office with clerical and database work. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to do all the amazing work we do for homeless animals. We are grateful for the support they give our organization and the love they give our animals! Their tireless, heartfelt support allows us to care for more than 3,600 animals each year, providing food, shelter and care to homeless pets that need us. We are grateful for all you do to help us fulfill our mission as a shelter and humane society. THANK YOU!
