In the summer of 2004, my dearest friend Dr. Kathleen Koppa, her husband Scott, and son Jordan, came to spend time on the Big Island Hawaii where my husband, Dr. Olin Balch, was working at the University of Hawaii, Hilo. Katheen studied acting at the Royal Academy of the Arts in London. We ALWAYS make each other laugh as is evident here!! We were just done with our second year of veterinary school at Washington State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine. Ive told Kathleen she has to speak at my funeral to tell people about the real me!! (No, Not planning that anytime soon!) We are standing the the Kilahea Volcano!
