In the summer of 73 my godbrother Raghavendu and I drove every day - TopicsExpress

In the summer of 73 my godbrother Raghavendu and I drove every day from Los Angeles to Laguna Beach where we ran a retail store. The idea for the store came from Jayatirtha and Nara Narayana and along with BBT literature and recordings and Spiritual Sky products we also sold clothes, jewelry and paraphernalia imported from India. It was kind of like a miniature Pier One Imports store. The hour long drive each way gave us time to study and memorize slokas from Bhagavad-gita and Sroimad-Bhagavatam. One of Raghavendus favorites (and which, on any given day, hed repeat a few hundred times) ... is from the 7th Canto, 9th Chapter of Bhagavatam, Text 43:where Prahlada Maharaja says: naivodvije para duratyaya-vaitaraṇyās tvad-vīrya-gāyana-mahāmṛta-magna-cittaḥ śoce tato vimukha-cetasa indriyārtha- māyā-sukhāya bharam udvahato vimūḍhān TRANSLATION O best of the great personalities, I am not at all afraid of material existence, for wherever I stay I am fully absorbed in thoughts of Your glories and activities. My concern is only for the fools and rascals who are making elaborate plans for material happiness and maintaining their families, societies and countries. I am simply concerned with love for them.
