In the supermarket, at 10.53 am, I was searching for a suitable breakfast, post party, and having succeeded in making my my choices, eggs, cheese, bread and coffee i approach the check out and was informed I could not complete my purchase until after 11am, when the entire store would be taking 2 minutes silence in remembrance. So I did. I had to. Great set-up, Universe! I hung around the chocolate counter, and waited. 11am and a short announcement... And the entire shop fell silent, for 2 minutes. Me too. It was really peaceful. For me, at least, yet probably for most of us. just keep having moments of peace like this, appreciating the life I have, its beauty, softness, kindnesses, vulnerability. Thats my first step towards ending war. and The horrors all those, unknown-to-me. people were put through, thats the truth of this - how that desecrates the peace, the beauty, softness, kindnesses, vulnerability, which is our most human and humane sensation. Generation after generation, war after war, crash after crash.... We need a generation free of that burden that is none of their business. This is a parenting job. Peace is a nurturing parents job. Whose job? My job, your job, our jobs!
