In the valley of Elah. Unwilling to allow another Philistine - TopicsExpress

In the valley of Elah. Unwilling to allow another Philistine invasion of their nation, Saul and the forces of Israel went out against them. They camped in the valley of Elah and formed ranks against the Philistines. The Philistines stood on one mountain and the Israelites on another, with the valley between them. The text says of Goliath, a man of a fearsome sight stood, outrageous intimidating, shouted to the watching Israelites for 40 days and instilled fear, and made the ranks of the army of the Israelites tremble in his mere sight. He placed himself between the opposing armies for 40 days, as he shouted to the warriors of Israel: Why have you come to fight us? Am I not a Philistine, a warrior for a powerful empire? And don’t you serve Saul, your so-called king? Choose yourselves a champion, and send him out to me. If he kills me when we fight, then we will serve you; but if I defeat him and kill him, then you will serve us. Today I challenge the entire army of Israel: send me someone to fight! There are 3 things which must be birthed in any believer who is to stand the ground, in facing the enemy, which are crucial for the outcome of engagement. This is not just something we proclaim and take, the blab it and grab it, but must be birthed from a deep realisation within us. A state in our psyche reached through spiritual maturity from a life in faith through the scriptures. You have to understand, realise, that you are undergoing a journey of endurance in which you have to take up your part as a brother, the persecution, which the establishment of the Kingdom makes the natural man and the adversary, the devil, to throw into your face. You must endure. You have to overcome fear as you walk into the valley of Elah, cos your enemy is outrageous intimidating and arises from a powerful empire, who want’s to instill fear and doubt of your own “so-called king”, placing you outside your own ranks to go face him as he challenge to fight you. You must overcome fear. You have to be well founded, and a man of the scriptures, firm grounded in the Word with full assurance of the game rules passed down by the Christ. The rules of engagement, the scriptures, will determine the outcome of the encounter. As John say’s in revelation: I, John, your brother who shares with you this journey in persecution and the establishment of the Kingdom and endurance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the ministry of the word of God and my testimony about Jesus.
