In the vein of the horror movie a day posts Im going to play around with some horror game posts, wedding times permitting. First up is Zombies Ate My Neighbors: I spent many a frantic weekend shooting zombies with water guns, throwing soda over walls at hatchet weilding dolls, and drinking elixirs to punch through hedge mazes with the hopes of stunning chainsaw weilding hockey goalies in search of cheerleaders and tourists to save. This is one of those games where the password system was never fully utilized and I constantly started from level 1 just to play the areas I loved over and over again, to the point where I dont know that I actually ever beat the game. I still pick this game up every few months when I have 30 minutes just to blast through some fantastic horror tropes, and with call outs to Friday the 13th, Chucky, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and every Universal monster it never ceases to be an absolute thrill. While the game can get tedious at times due to the seemingly massive amount of stages, if you can find a copy on SNES, or in this instance a lesser Genesis version, find yourself a buddy and give it a go. It is sure to give horror enthusiasts a great time.
