In the very long continuity of this mission where hands are meeting iron, where freedom from all the terribly depressing years where our people, particularly the youth, were provided not one solitary morally clear and easily verifiable example of the pathway out of bondage to past allegiances to the sloth and idleness promoted, even this day, by the bunch who never seems to be there when you need them, never ready to perform basic operations whereby any reasonable activity is required, this naturally being the verbal activists, it was and is the persistent existence of the lazy-bones element in our midst which provides the perfect, almost quintessential image of whom not to emulate, whom not to worship; they being the false idols of misguided loyalty. Your people, today, October 18, 2014, recorded another triumph over this sad situation by executing their freedom in an ever-growing, ever-expanding number of doers banding together in such a way that our collective willpower to carry on is unbreakable and strengthening, our youth are even now leading through serving you, the great and good people of Woodside, and in this way, multiple and overlapping projects are achievable in a single day, all of them would, by themselves, be the only toil any of the verbal activists bunch would advertise for months or even years to come, but for us, they might not even break the top 50 for the year. With greening, cleaning and graffiti remediation deployed this day in tandem around the heart of Woodside, while one team moved to collect the garbage, another planted bulbs, still another weeded in the Trimble Road Community Garden, another repainted the second half of the Great Wall of Woodside along Woodside Avenue between 63 and 64 Streets, and yet another team isolated from the main body repainted the BQE bridge on the south side of Queens Boulevard and 65 Place. While most of the activity was concentrated in a 3-block radius between 61 and 64 Streets in this area, it validates here the assertion that, when individuals raise their level and focus on mission rather than personalities, everything can be accomplished and in the expected good order. Meanwhile, the afternoon and evening afforded remaining elements to continue the freedom by expanding the cleaning operations, more weeding for our neighbors who are physically unable to maintain the front of their properties, and closing in a wonderfully simple fashion at Lucid Cafe for some coffee and reflection. But what sort of people are they? And who is this man David Rosasco who taunts this bunch who hope we fail with rock-solid photographic and video evidence of the enormity of the great reversal of fortunes? Some may continue to harbor resentment at free people resisting understandable temptation to lay down and do nothing, because, as per the verbal activists, it is always the realm of someone else to do the doing, as they are too burdened, too busy, yet herein lies the reasons again I highlight the youth, from many of the schools across this town and beyond, proving that for all the finger-pointing and hand wringing and face-contorting that occurred, it all can be pushed into the dustbin of history by our future, one that is looking better by the day, and one in which you and all of our troubled hearts and tormented souls can rest in comfort and entertain reassuring thoughts of salvation from our tormentors.
