In the village, a poshomill is a hunting ground for singles. If you conduct a survey, you will be surprised to find that 80% of married couples met at the poshomill .Here girls come for two reasons ; grind their maize into flour and meet potential husbands. Going to the poshomill happend in the afternoon after everyone had finished their respective chores. Going to the poshomill was like going to watch a movie at the cinema ,thus dressing to kill was compulsory .Now, unlike today where we have indoor bathrooms, in the village a bathroom was either a river or a banana plantation behind a dilapidated hut adjacent to the road where pedestrians (mostly men)pass by every second! After the bath, the girl would put on her sunday best, which in this case includes a white mutumba blouse that probably had a huge patch of permanent stain,a long red skirt known as maksi. Inside the skirt, you would probably notice a conspicuous nylon pet coat aka kamisi, whose laces compliments the dress by always overlapping it that would force the lady to keep pulling it up in intervals !And when she walks the nylon pety coat would produce some funny sounds that men in the village say it was sign to tell you that she is ready! Wearing shoes was optional.If it was a must the canvas shoes by the name rata ngoma ,would do the magic. Now ,in the village lotion is a luxury .So ladies were forced to contend with two types of jelly;TIP TOP and BINTI EL SUDAN !These two jelly were popular in village for two reasons ,1.They had a strong sweet scent that would drive any sane man mad. 2.They made the girls skin glitter and shine like a smokie from a far.…COME WATCH MY HUSBAND IS A WOMAN FOR THE WHOLE STORY
