In the wake of all the recent shootings and homicides in San - TopicsExpress

In the wake of all the recent shootings and homicides in San Francisco the one thing that has escaped many of us in the search for solutions is the need for investing in our young people. Nonetheless, just across the Bay in the City of Richmond they have found the POLITICAL WILL to do such a thing and the results are undeniable! From 2007 to 2013 the homicide rate in Richmond has dropped from 47 to 16 and is expected to be in single digits by the end of this year. As such these are the type of proactive solutions that I support since they actually addresses the root causes of the problem verses throwing more money at failed programs that react to the violence and police, whose job is to solve crimes after they happen. This is why I am running for District 10 Supervisor since we need more out of the box problem solvers at City Hall. Nothing can stop the pain of a family that has lost a love one to gun violence since I know firsthand with the lost of my brother and countless friends. However, we can do better in finding solutions that really speak to the heart of the matter, which is POVERTY. Moving forward, we will be working to adopt this program in San Francisco so, stay tuned! #SolveOurOwnProblem #NoPoliticalWillInSF #LetsMakeItHappen
