In the wake of the death of the infant toddler, left in a hot car in Milton recently, OPP and Quinte West Community Policing wish to remind you to NOT leave children and pets in cars during this very hot season. Recent surveys indicate several vehicles with pets left in vehicles with windows partially down, but the inside temperature of a vehicle increases dramatically in the heat. It is an OFFENSE in both cases and you WILL be charge. Please leave pets at home if you are shopping and DO NOT leave children in cars, even for a few minutes. It would be devastating to loose a pet and especially a child. If you see pets and/or children left in a vehicle unattended and appear to be distressed, please call the police. Have a safe summer.
