In their season opener, the Spotswood Dolphins defeated the Broadway Sharks by a score of 336-253! We had threatening skies all day, but the clouds parted and the meet began on time! What does that score tell us about our team? If you divide the points by the number of swimmers at the meet, you get a POWER SCORE. Dolphins scored 5.3 points per swimmer, compared to 1.8 for the Sharks. That shows how hard our athletes trained and worked. ALEXIS MINNICK was our only record setter, setting a new mark in the 11-12 50 backstroke! SUZANNE FORNADEL had a top 5 finish in that same event, and GRAYSON BLYE had a top 5 finish in the 11-12 50 free. Congratulations to all these swimmers! Overall, we had FIFTY-EIGHT SWIMMERS make ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVEN personal best times, a phenomenal start to a season. By comparison, last year we had 87 swimmers make 95 bests. Thanks to our awesome coaches who are making great competitors who remain great sportsmen! And thanks to the parents who volunteered and made it all happen.
