In this TED talk, Ms. Levin suggest that the sound of the Big Bang may be white noise. I disagree with her remark that white noise is cacophonous. White noise tends to relax humans to the point of sleep. The sounds of rain or the ocean tides coming in, often used in relaxation and meditation sessions, are essentially white noise. Before cable or satellite, when the TV stations would go off the air at night, the signal was replaced by a snowy screen that emitted white noise, and tons of people would fall asleep to that sound. She touches on the song of the universe, or multiverse, that has been playing since the beginning of our perceived reality. If that song began with white noise, would it be so unbelievable to conclude that we all might be asleep and dreaming everything around us? Or are we in someone or something elses dream, composing the ever-present song as we slumber in the cradle of creation?
