In this new blog post from Roadside Theater: Art in a Democracy, we learn about a new community program entitled Something to Behold in West Baltimore. It includes a script of the play Something to Behold, which chronicles a three year effort by Alternate ROOTS, Culture Works, and Roadside that culminated in a massive festival next to the 1.4-mile dead-end expressway. Eleven thousand West Baltimoreans came together to celebrate their struggle and resilience with a star-studded line-up of musicians, singers, spoken-word artists, and dancers. The blog includes videos of the plays reading from last October, as well as excerpts of the community dialogue which followed the reading.
