In this time of Ukrainian political power-struggle a map to describe the dynamics that strip Europe together and apart from century to century. Though I would do it a little differently. 1) Maybe show the states that were in power the whole time (for example Sweden) in a designated color so that Sweden is not having different colors all the time. 2) And Baltic states could still be marked with names in the Soviet time, because they had borders etc in those times, but yes were annexed by the soviets. 3) Maybe even some Germananic provinces / regions, that have stayed the same for centuries should be shown inside Germany in different times, not put together a big country on the map that moves all the time.
