In this weeks episode, head deeper into the Lower Keys to launch at Cudjoe Gardens Marina! Rocket out to the first dive site, the beautiful, underrated AMERICAN SHOAL, marked by a 110 Lighthouse, on line since 1880, where well learn the Lobster gathering rules and regulations in the Keys! Then, zip two miles west to the unmarked MARYLAND SHOAL, a nice, uncrowded site in 15-30 of water. Next, inch over to nearby MARYLAND DRY ROCKS, marked by a sand spit. The next target, WESTERN DRY ROCKS, is a gigantic patch reef marked by three green day shapes (markers). Up next about 1 1/4 miles away is NINEFOOT SHOAL, marked by the distinctive green and white checkerboard light tower. Top off the day with a salvage dive on the ISSAC ALLERTON, a 137 long, square-rigged cargo ship displacing 595 tons that went down in 30 of water near the Saddlebunch Keys on August 28th, 1856!
