In todays Log Cabin Democrat & thecabin.net, Rapert still doesnt know if the Private Option is worth it. 7,500 of his constituents now have affordable health care, but he isnt sure he would vote for it again. Rural hospitals are keeping their doors open, but he isnt sure he would vote for it again. Premiums are projected to drop or remain the same, but he isnt sure he would vote for it again. Raperts votes are dictated by his donors. The vast majority of his campaign funds are from lobbyists, special interests, and PACs. They tell him how to vote and he does it, so I guess hes still waiting on their memo. Its either that or hes trying to hide his Tea Party allegiance, but his website (which hasnt been updated since 2012) gives him away: I strongly disagree with my fellow legislators who have publicly promised to actively work on establishing Obamacare [expanding and reforming Medicaid - what came to be the Private Option] in Arkansas and those who have said the law is just something we as citizens would just have to accept. Well now Arkansas unique solution to expanding Medicaid, The Private, has been enacted and it is working great. I guess thats something Jason Rapert just cant accept.
