In today’s political environment no bad idea ever goes away. Instead, politicians just change the color of the ribbon, retie the bow, and put it back under the tree. Guess what, special education vouchers are back. The “not so new” version of special needs vouchers will be introduced into the Legislature on Tuesday, Jan. 21, in conjunction with a press conference at the Capitol. It will begin a noon in the Senate parlor (behind the Senate chamber) on the second floor of the south wing. Stop Special Needs Vouchers — a group of families from across Wisconsin who believe that equal opportunity for a solid and inclusive public education should be available to every student, including students with disabilities — is going to be in the Capitol, too. They want you to join them.
