In total surrender one drops his ego to become selfless and silent. The doer means the ego, the ego means the past. One is always acting through the past or accumulated experience. The past dominates and is a smoke screen that makes us blind due to accumulated knowledge. We function mechanically. Thus a non-doer drops his intellect to faithfully adopt non-duality. Devotion calls for the dropping of the mind to avoid restlessness and unnecessary thoughts. Surrender, faith and devotion are the mark of a non-doer for dedication towards Godhead. Even discussing about silence is the very opposite of non-duality as discussions emanate as mind activity and there is discordance. Try to be still and remain in silence. "I am Brahman, the pure, all-pervading Consciousness, the non-enjoyer, non-doer and silent witness" is Gyanana. Aham Brahmasmi :-) Om Prem Shaanti :-)
