In treasured memory of a Shepherd mix named Keco, who was so beautiful, both inside and out. Fourteen years ago, Keco’s mom was at a shelter and had picked out a new puppy when Keco came to her soon-to-be mom, scooted the other dog out of the way, and without any words made it very clear that they were made for each other. Keco was so right, and she was such a delight of a family member. She was less than 6 weeks old when she was adopted, and had a very close call when doctors found she had parvo, a virus that often results in the death of a puppy. But Keco’s mom helped nurse her through her illness, and she thrived. Keco had a great fenced yard to play in, and loved to relax on her lounge chair in the back, looking out over the lake in the backyard with her mom by her side. Keco was a very intuitive girl, and even when her human uncle came to live with them, Keco made sure both he and her mom were always comforted. Keco’s mom said it best when she said that Keco’s job was to provide unconditional love, and her job was to always take care of her. They both did tremendously well in their roles. Rest in peace, dear Keco.
