Inbox Heyy could I have a post please? 😊 Basically this is a long story but Ill try and cut it short... I moved into a housing association property in June within the first week I had to have a surveyor out to look at my kitchen cupboard which was full of mould... He said the mould was cause by a damp wall behind it that had been caused by a blocked drain and that the cupboard would just need painting and the wall would dry out... So they painted over the mould shortly after which obviously the mould then came back to I complained to my housing officer who said it was not right and reordered that it was looked at and fixed. Whilst waiting for that to be done the wall between my daughter nd my bedrooms suddenly appeared with damp coming up the wall so again I told my housing officer who added it to the job and chased it up for over a month and then an inspector from a2 came to see it he said it was rising damp and also found it on other walls with a meter.... 4 weeks later he sent out a surveyor who checked the walls and tiles on the floor all of which were damp he said that a specialist had to see it so yet again I waited for another week and then the specialist came and said it was definitely coming from the ground and would need to be investigated further before being fixed... So I went to the official complaints team saying I should not have been moved in as they knew about it as the surveyor who originally came about the cupboard said a2 had been made aware of it... It been with complaints 5 weeks and all Ive been told it the drains need checking with cameras incase a pipe has burst under the flat in which case this water aint normal water. My central heating has to be checked incase that is leaking which is highly unlikely as almost every wall has damp about a quarter of the way up... On one wall it is even above a plug socket... And finally all internal problems will need to be fixed. Im yet to get a date and I also have no flooring down as I was told not to make anymore changes to the property as the floors may need to be dug up and I need a new damp corse which means stripping back every wall and replastering... My daughter is 6months old and asthmatic which my gp has said that the condition of the flat will make it worse. Yet a2 said I can only be moved if the surveyor says it unsafe which he said it is perfectly safe which he is clearly only saying from a structural perspective not for the health of my child. They also dont even know what they need to do yet. I waited 7 months as the highest possible priority to be put into a flat which they new had a problem I dont know what to do Im so stressed out that they could do this and my daughter cant even go on the floor. My heating is on 24/7 and it is still freezing and worst of all all the stress is affecting my milk supply and they dont care about anything I say and are saying my complaint is being delt with as a complaint about the work but its a combination of things 😥 thanks sorry it long!!
