Inbox: Hiya could I have a PPP? I quit my job a few months ago when I was 12 weeks pregnant. This was doctors orders as my morning sickness was really bad and the stress was not doing me or my baby any good. My fiancée is still working full time and earns around 17k. Thats enough to keep our house running with a tiny bit extra to live off. I keep doing these benefit calculators and they come up saying Im not due any benefit. I dont think Ive been doing it right and I also think its totally untrue. How can two people and a child live off that...because after tax its more like 15k. I will be going back to work once the baby is born and obviously at least 6 months old. How do I go about seeing what benefits I would get in the mean time? A visit to the job centre or citizens advice? I have no idea as Ive never claimed anything in my life. I dont even know if I would get maternity allowance because I did work from the beginning of December to the end of May in my last job, but it was only minimum wage (24 years old) ive looked stuff up online and Im not getting anywhere.
