(Inbox) How old is too old to follow your dreams, and is it a parents responsibility to finance their childrens education? My husband (45) has mentioned he wants to go back to school for a mechanical engineering degree that he sought many years ago. He looked into it and shelved the idea when he found that much of the coursework he had taken has expired. I really want to broach the topic again, because I hate seeing him go day in day out to a job he hates. I love my career and make enough to pay the bills and still save for retirement, but there would not be much left after that. He says that his ship has sailed because we have 3 kids in highschool and that it is their future we have to plan, not his. He also said the burden of carrying the household is not something he is comfortable with me carrying alone. I appreciate and understand his POV, but he has always been supportive of what I want and I really want him to be able to have this for himself. He is retired military, so that can finance his education. I really want him to be a full time student...we arent getting any younger. Of course I dont want our kids drowning under student loans, but I paid for my own education and I am fine. What to do, what to do? #MCAR
