Incase youre wondering why I havent been posting on Facebook as much over the last few days its Torbay council and the bloody Taxi firms in Torquays fault !! You may have read on here that New Years Eve I went out for a wonderful meal with the cast from the Panto, and whilst I hardly ever drink just incase I did have more than a couple I opted for the only sensible option which was to not take the car, so I got a Taxi over to Torquay……. When the meal had finished I waited to see the new year in and by about 12.25 I was ready to go home so I started phoning every Taxi number I knew and they all said the same, nothing available till after 3 am !!! I attempted to thumb a lift and even tried waving a £20 note at random passing cars but everyone just ignored me….. So in the end I gave up and started to walk the 3 miles back to Paignton, what really annoyed me was every other Taxi that drove past me was empty, obviously on to their way to their next job, If the controllers were better organised they could have easily slotted my job in, and because I wasnt pre booked theyre not allowed to stop and pick me up on route. Obviously living in London for the last 2 years has spoilt me, in London they have real Taxis, that can stop and pick you up !! Anyway it was bloody freezing, and Ive had a bit of a sore throat and need my voice for Panto so I wrapped my Jacket round me as tight as I could in an effort to keep warm, bearing in mind I was completely sober and more than capable of bloody driving if only Id brought the car with me. The problem was I held my jacket so tight that unbeknown to me I snapped my glasses in 3 places that were in my top pocket…. And thats why Ive hardly been on Facebook because without my glasses I cant see sod all when Im trying to type…… Ive had a go at mending them which is how Im typing this but looking thorough them with all this bloody sellotape on the lens gives me a right headache !! Next New Years Eve Im going to do what I normally do, stay in and watch it on the Telly !!
